Unit Betting

Question about unit betting. Let's say your unit bet is $10, when someone says bet 1 unit on a play does that mean bet enough to win one unit (bet $11 to win $10) or bet one unit ($10 to win $9.09). It obviously makes more of a difference for money line bets but I've seen different sportsbooks apply the bets both ways so I'm wondering what is industry standard.

10 to win 9.09 if youre following any sort of guide.

most books will make it versus vig, so if you say you want 10 on a -120 line they usually put it in as 12. most definitely in football if you say you want 100 on a team they punch in 110 nearly everywhere. Although some will maybe ask if you want to BET 100 or WIN 100. just have to check your tickets or watch the register when you are betting through a window.

Theres no standard. Personally I play favorites to win 1 (110 to win 100) and dogs are risk (100 to win 110). But some people play to win one unit (110 to win 100) or (90.9 to win 100).

Saw your talking about sportsbooks, not players? In that case most books want you playing as much as possible so it goes by my first example so when you play 1 unit your willing to lose 1 unit plus vig on favs and lose a full unit on dogs
