    Job Question????
Just how important is your credit score when a background check is conducted???

I would think the criminal side of it would be more important to look at, but does anyone know for sure?

    Thanks!

As someone who gets to hire and fire people on occasion. I can tell you that the credit score is more like a meter for how reliable a person is likely to be, but it isn't a end all thing. For instance, if someone's credit score is excellent, it wouldn't have that much bearing in my mind as far as hiring a person. If however the credit score sucks big time, I may pause to find out why, only because of teh reliable aspects of teh person. If he or she has a good explaination as to why they have a foreclosure, 3 repoed cars, etc... I may stil hire them.

                  What industry?

I'd overlook medical bills on a credit report, but nothing else. If you aren't responsible enough to have a credit card, I wouldn't want you working for me.

                  Not that I hire people.

Depends on what kind of job you are applying for. I think one's credit score would be more of a factor in trying to get an apartment than a job.

if the HR dude says 'we went with other candidates' and neg you, just tell them at that time or from day 1 when you meet that you were a victim of ID theft and have been working on cleaning it up for 2000 hours

Have u thought about a career in pizza delivery?

They don't do credit or criminal background.... as long as you got a car that runs and can get the pizza there hot.

Just ask ms, he's been doing it for 20 years. What a winner.
