Roy Williams has just been traded to the Dallas Cowboys for 2 2nd round draft picks. Wow......If T O gets on board and doesnt pout, this just made the Boys even scarier on offense.

#3Great move by the lions!
Roy was in the final year of his contract and there was no way he'd ever re-sign with the lions.
Two 2nd round picks will be huge for the lions
Great deal for dallas too

You'd think Jerry would have learned to not trade for WR's by now after Galloway did nothing for them.Comment -

#8It's a good trade for the future if they re-sign Roy Williams. I hate Dallas with a passion, so I hope he bolts and they continue to flounder around like the ass clowns they are this year.Comment -

#10I agree Wade Phillips is useless. He could get out coached by Corky from "The Wonder Years".Originally posted by MJFtheGeniuswhy not trade these picks for a head coach????
Throw into the mix that one of your coaches is Dave Campo and you know you're in trouble.

#12I wonder how happy Bill Parcells is right now that he isn't in the middle of this mess? Add another head case to a team of malcontents.
Good for the Lions, though. Although now they've got 0-16 staring them in the face with Kitna on IR and their #1 WR gone. At least with Kitna & Roy they had some offensive firepower. Now what? I still say it's good for the Lions as a franchise.Comment -

#18The Cowboys will give up a first-round pick in 2009, plus a third- and sixth-rounder that year for Williams and a seventh-round pick in '09.Originally posted by poetwarrior41Roy Williams has just been traded to the Dallas Cowboys for 2 2nd round draft picks. #19When the reporter on ESPN broke the trade he said they gave up 2 2nd rounders, i was just repeating what i heard. I think the Lions got a great deal, they are in rebuilding mode, and extra draft picks are the key. When Roy Williams is on, he is a beast, he will definately help the Boys offense. He is major upgrade over Patrick Crayton and Auston Miles.Originally posted by DeuceThe Cowboys will give up a first-round pick in 2009, plus a third- and sixth-rounder that year for Williams and a seventh-round pick in '09.

#25Such a horrible trade.
Why do they need another receiver when they got Owens and Witten already fighting over the ball? And to give up a 1st RD pick?
They need DEFENSIVE help which that 1st RD pick would've helped in getting.Comment -

#29I am a very happy Lions fan. Always liked Williams but he was starting to pout and was becoming increasingly ineffective. Never thought the Millen firing would be paying dividends so quickly..helluva trade! Ironically,Williams was probably Millen's best pick. Maybe Sims we'll see. Putting Kitna on IR (for back spasms? come on) was a clear sign they are going for the youth movement. Extra draft picks will also be a great enticement to a future GM. Should lure a good one. That said, who wouldn't want the Lions GM job? Unbelievable pay and the greatest job security in sportsComment -

#31I don't think they're too worried about that. The Pats have more problems than Tom being out such as an ancient defense and the blueprint to beat them which teams were using at the end of last year.Originally posted by RedchevyLooks like Jones is scared shit that if he doesn't win it this year with Brady on crutches, he may never win it!Comment -

#32I guess my whole take on the deal is that when Brady's lighting up the scoreboard, the ancient defense is resting. What many fail to understand is that Brady makes the defenses' job even easier when teams are down 20/30 points making the opposition one dimensional and easier to defend. Truth be known, the Patriots best defensive player is actually Brady. Think about that for a minute.Originally posted by The SeerI don't think they're too worried about that. #34I hope he can punt.....
IRVING, Texas (AP) -Dallas Cowboys punter Mat McBriar was put on injured reserve Tuesday, ending his season two days after sustaining a broken foot on the last play of the overtime loss at Arizona.
McBriar's foot was broken Sunday when his punt was blocked by the Cardinals and recovered for the winning touchdown.
The Cowboys signed Sam Paulescu, who was in training camp with Dallas in 2007, and in Denver's camp this year. Paulescu, undrafted out of Oregon State, has punted in only one NFL game, averaging 44.2 yards on five kicks in the Broncos' 2007 season finale.
McBriar won't need surgery, but will need up to two months to recover, too long to keep him inactive on the roster. After his foot was hit by an unblocked rusher, McBriar had to be carted off the field.
McBriar, in his fifth season, was a Pro Bowler in 2006, when he had a 48.2-yard average. This season, he punted 17 times for a 49.4 average, third in the NFC and sixth in the NFL.Comment -
