Asian -0.5 at 1.72

Are these not the same thing? Why is one higher than the other?

Something is off with your numbers. Asian handicap with a single number would be in ¼,¾ increments. Example, Team X -.25 @ 1.72 (which is same as pk,-.5). Otherwise there's 2 numbers listed (Team X pk,-.5 @ xxx).

I wasn't referring to fixes per se, just saying that its pretty low quality soccer and sometimes a crapshoot. However, the difference between top teams and bottom teams is vast and they usually result in comfortable top team wins.

Yes, the AH -0.5 and the ML is the same thing....for some reason sometimes different odds are offered....just take the better odds every time

mostly it is like 18-22 yr olds, the teams make no money and cant even pay the players

except Toronto Croatia is the only team who pays, they have the best players this season because they have people betting on their games so they can pay their players

Well, op listed AH in his original question. Assuming I misunderstood, there is no difference between -½ and money line, as far as winning or losing the bet. From what I understand, from the books perspective they make more in juice on 3-way lines (win, lose, draw) vs. 2-way (spread). It's a little more complex than that, but that's the gist of it. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on the matter can chime in.

Even if ML and -0.5 are the same, AHC and 1x2 are in their respective markets. They are different on their own.

1x2 are usually bet more often (I doubt many casual bettors know how AHC works), AHC are mostly taken advantage of in different higher/lower spreads such as -2. Betting a lot on -2 will also affect the value of -0.5 spread. But it does not affect on 1x2 market.

Usually ML and -0.5 will turn out the same, but high/low money influx will make it move a bit different as well. For us only one thing matters: compare ML and -0.5 and take the better odds on market.
