Went with the Cubs today. Dempster with no juice is a good deal, plus the Red Sox just traveled while the Cubs have been at home. Home crowd will be fired up and so will the Cubs I think, Matsuzaka won't be effective today.

Why you'd play Boston at a line that opened against the Cubs at -105/-105 is beyond me. Not saying the Red Sox won't win, but the fact that they didn't open as a fave here should probably tell you something.

Well, the Cubs went from +124 to +119 right before close at Pinny -- is that not significant if you're on Boston?

There's no reason for Boston to open as a PK against the Cubs under any circumstances. You think you got a deal at -105 -- I'm asking why it was even -105 in the first place.

You call it "steaming" -- I call it books juicing the hell out of Boston backers. Again, did the line not move 5 cents in the Cubs favor over the last 10 minutes?

I don't know how you could even consider this a bettable game anyway with Dice-K on the bump. Again, I don't think getting Boston at -105 against the Cubs is a shrewd move. You do and you crushed the closer. Congrats. You're already down 2-0 with the better pitcher on the other team.

Look Sam, I understand how efficient the closing line is vs. the opening line. I get the whole BTCL concept, and that it's the only way to truly gauge long term how successful you or your system is vs. the oddsmakers. But again, Boston opened at -105 against the Cubs. Think about that for a minute.

Go get 'em for +245 live if you think it was such a good bet.
