Laying that number IS high considering Verlander has been beaten consistently...what is he around .500?

Don't fall in love with that great history, or the "due" theory....the numbers don't add up. There are better plays than DET-200....

Verlander has been less than stellar except when he had a no hitter through 8 1/3. He really hasn't been bad. He had 1 bad outing and that was at Boston. He hasn't gotten much help. Cubs won't be able to hit Verlander I don't think. I would take Verlander over Wood any day.

That is key, he hasn't gotten much help and his record shows it. I would take Verlander over Wood as well, but just staying away all together, I just don't trust Detroit bats, they seem to really be struggling to put up runs.

Cubs seem to be playing decently at home... 4-1 last 5. Wood isn't that bad and Cubs could luck into a miracle inning against JV with the help of some shitty defense like in game 1.

Too much to bear if you bet Tigers. Team has best pitcher in the AL on the mound against worst team in baseball and is struggling to plate runs against a below average pitcher despite runners on base every inning. Some of this poor play needs to be shouldered by Leyland. He's been living off that 2006 pennant for a long time now.
