I wouldn't say new I've been a weekend gambler for year since I was 14 my grandfather was a bookmaker at the horse races in Sydney . But I've just started to take it serious I use flashscore.com to check previous results and there current form that all helps when betting football/ soccer and some challenger tennis

i prefer livescores.com.au it works to my timezone and is part of the flashscore family, but it's not a site to really use for checking on team form etc.....you are definitely new to gambling. where you from?
