I have stayed at Circus Circus. I have brought my step daughter to Vegas and that was the best place to take a 12 year old and her friend. She is 16 now though but still there is no where she would rather go then Circus Circus. The rooms are cheap as shit and the whole casino is a shit hole. We had a great time though but I'd never stay there unless I was broke as shit and shouldn't be in Vegas in the first place.

I have also stayed at The Orleans. It is just okay. They have a bowling alley so if u are from California ya know they have leagues that go to Vegas. So u stay usually here or at Sam's Town. You are right it is right next to Rio so u definitely need to rent a car which u can get for like $20 a day in Vegas.

        Pretty much nailed it.

I used to fly out to Las Vegas from the east coast 3x a year before I got married, now once a year, so I've been to Las Vegas about 50 times give or take since I was 20.

Long story short, in all my visits to LV, I never seen the inside of Circus Circus, so out of curiosity, decided to drop by one afternoon.

Loudest casino I've ever experienced, not a good kind of loud.
Kids running amok in the non casino areas, dirty, one blackjack table had a burnt cigarette mark in the felt.

I'm told if you get on any type of run, the pit boss will send in a cooler and deal seconds.............

Mr. Sarno, God Bless his soul, had a good vision when he first opened this place, but its time has come and go.
I guess it's making money for the Mandalay people, because I can't envision any whale gambling at this dump when there are 1000 other better options.

Steve, you are correct. Circus makes a lot of revenue for MGM. Low overhead and steady business. They turned down good offers for property. People go there with low expectations and they are not disappointed.
