I know he doesn't play on the team anymore but the rules state that a player playing in 41 regular season games gets his name on the cup. Jack played in 61. Does the fact that he is on a different team change that? He was buried. Playing on worst team now. How does that work?

No, you don't get your name on the cup if you're traded, which makes sense because you would've been gone long before the playoffs even start. I remember I looked it up when Hodgson was traded from van to buffalo.

I thought the rule was... you must be dressed, active, and have one shift in a playoff game. That would be a No...

Technically a backup goalie must be out on the ice and appear... or he wouldn't get his name on the cup either.

          No

You must be on the current roster and

Have played at least 41 regular season games OR

Played at least 1 Stanley cup final game.

Is it one final game or 1 playoff game? Anyways I'm sure Jack is in Columbus wondering why Dustin Brown couldn't have played like that earlier in the year.

1 game in the finals or 41 regular season

Backup goalies do get their names on the cup as they are on the game roster for each game.

nhl teams can ask for exemptions.

Last year marc savard of the bruins didn't qualify because he only played 25 games in the regular season And 0 in the playoffs but the team petitioned for him and he got his name on the cup.

Also if you bet over $1million on a futures bet on eventual winner before March1 you get your name on cup

                  its true

                  look up 1992 Penguins

Jagr put a bet on own team before season even began
