Cain is not that much better than Garza, if he is even better. I don't think this is the best play on any the board by any stretch.

Actually, Garza career ERA is not much worse than Cain's when you consider Garza spent most of his career in the AL and has always pitched in hitter friendly parks (i.e. Metrodome, Tropicana, and Wrigley Field) compared with Cain who plays in one of the best pitcher ballparks and faces NL West team all year.

Be careful, Garza is no slouch. There is not that much of a diff between the two IMO. But true, CHC are a bad team overall. I can see Cain winning 2-1.

Cain's career era is not a good indicator of his talent though. He has seemingly gotten better and better to now having a sub 3 era, sub 1 whip and fantastic K to BB ratio of around 5


I would say San Fran has a decent pitching edge here and obviously a big edge in all the other areas. Chicago is truly an awful team at 6-18 on the road
