Early 1990's we had to call the "yellow pages" hotline to check sports results every 30 minutes... Long before tickers... Hated the busy signals on top of it all...

yeah that was awful

and then waiting for espn2 to scroll through the scores at a snail's pace, once they got to the game you wanted it went to commercial and started somewhere else


there were times i waited 45 minutes to find out whether cal st-northridge covered the spread
