* My question would a book move a line down even if 80%+ of the plays were on that side, to make people think that SMU is the better play? In other words do reverse sicolagy on people looking to make a play?

I admit I know very little as far as how a book is ran, but I just dont get it? I mean does it force last minute plays from people who they may have not gotten?

90% of books have no motive to move lines other than copying another books or a line service lines.

If Book A moved a game from -6 to -7 then 90% of other books move it also even with NO ACTION

Sports betting is a market. If the line is 25 and moves down to 24.5, it's likely that theres more money on the underdog. To balance the action on both sides they try to entice people to take the favorite at the lower, more attractive number.

To move a line in any direction for any motive other than the correct ones are foolish..that might constitute a opinion..the opinions are for the players..
