my attitude is this- if bobby wanted to bet he would have found a way to bet. if he were my friend i can limit his action and look out for him. ex if he wanted to bet 50 or 100 i would say i have most of my action tied up in my account all i can place for you is 25. where as if he found someone else to put bets in they wouldnt look out for him they would take as much as they could knowing he is a good kid and would square his debt away over time

Ray's right, this whole situation comes down to a simple question: Do you take money from a friend with a gambling addiction?

Personally, I wouldn't. If a person is so addicted to something that they spend every cent they make to acquire it and then go into debt to acquire more, that's when they most need their friends to refuse to enable them. End of story.

I saw Bobby tonight at the Vegas Club sportsbook....Geez he looked bad
His clothes were wrinkled an dirty he smelled like an old man. I met him once at
the bash so I went up an asked how is the job at the Nugget. He said fuk work
I aint here to work. He told me the thing in vegas is to make money anyway you

Making someone bet small at any point, when the house has a +EV bet, isn't an advantage for the house. While Shady Patty also might not have been bright enough to understand this (or lacked the bankroll or perhaps even the willingness/ability to pay if he got behind) this doesn't change the mathematics of the situation.

I would be real surprised if you didn't still have (and knew you had) an advantage over Bobby even without the "the house edge" of being dealer every hand.

Personally while I don't fault for gambling with him, as (unlike those making bogus claims they are some moral crusade for all for Bobby's benefit by exposing all this) I'll admit I probably would have also placed bets for Bobby or played cards with him since if you didn't (as is clear by him still continuing to gamble) he would have just got action somewhere else, it is still kindof disingenuous for you to ignore the distinction.

yeah i missed this part...if i were down money and patty or anyone else told me i had some made up new limit on my bet that wasnt specified beforehand, i would kindly tell them to go fukk themselves and they wouldnt sniff getting a penny of what i was down... this is the first i have heard of this...definitely whoreshit move from patty

pete, the reason why bobby had little money is because of those totally non gambling related issues(the ones we hope he learned a good lesson from, even though he got his money back)...you know this... bobby likes to gamble, its one of the few things he really seems to enjoy and get into... do i consider him a gambling addict? nowhere near it... i have seen a lot of addicts... bobby can take it or leave it a lot of days, rarely makes more than a few bets a day and when he goes to the casino, he sets a limit and sticks to it...addicts dont do any of these... there are so many guys here in much worse situations that continue to go in debt...
