 Since plenty of people are either dead (what Memorial Day is really supposed to be about....) or seriously fukked up (both physically and mentally - something the movies usually ignore) I'm personally quite glad that my shifts "monitoring equipment" usually meant spending 12 hours napping, watching movies, and reading books...
