    Nobel Prize in Economics LOCK

Just said 'lock' to get your attention.

I like Barro at +1250. The guys with worse odds are too young and/or haven't shaken the field much. But they are known from their articles in big newspapers/WSJ.

Barro has done a lot of solid foundation shaking work for decades. Nobel prizes usually go to old farts, too, not young guys halfway through their careers.

    Also, http://ideas.repec.org/top/top.person.all.html
Note Barro is above several guys who are already Nobel winners

If so, it'd be a shame that Herschel Grossman wouldn't be alive to share the honors...

Well we know it won't go to Bernanke and/or Paulson.

          Update:

Robert Barro has emerged in the Harvard Nobel Pool with 16.2% of all bets. However, the triumvirate of Hansen, Sargent and Sims, who many believe would be chosen together, has garnered nearly 23% of the vote and is the most likely prize, especially when one controls for home bias. Top vote getters as of now are below, although entries can be submitted until Sunday.
          Barro 16.2%
          Hansen 12.2%
          Sargent 6.8%
          Fama 6.8%
          Hart 5.4%
          Diamond 4.1%
          Feldstein 4.1%
          Sims 4.1%
          Thaler 4.1%

Ironically, you can now get Barro at even better odds

Embarrassing - Krugman won Nobel Prize.
Has come up with some good models on international trade and "economic geography", but they keep citing his NY Times articles. Come onnnnn, articles in newspapers??

            Booooooo
A hidden away academic like Barro gets no credibility. And Krugman's a prick.

krugman is a liberal prick. i find economists are just agents who make people buy into the western monetary ponzi scheme.

and this is my 11k post.

might want to read a book/article [probably by M. Friedman] on why you need the money supply to grow.
