How much revenue did the Cubs Lose..
By getting eliminated from the playoffs after their 3rd game in round 1????

I saw it on tv the other day but forgot the figures, was flipping through channels.

Not only that, but them getting very far was a key factor in how much they can ask for the franchise as they sell it now.

Not only that but I guarantee you the suicide rate increased in Chicago starting after game 2 loss. Sad but I bet its true.

They should sell the franchise to Mark Cuban.

That was a choke of the highest order... not that they lost the series, but the way they were never even competitive. After having the best record in the league.

Goes to show you that it ALL comes down to being hot at the end of the season. Like the Rockies last season or the Giants in the NFL last season.

Last time I heard, he was one of three finalist to buy the club.

People in Toronto are wishing the Blue Jays had the Cubs' troubles. It's been 15 years since the Blue Jays had a season that makes what the Cubs did this year look anything other than spectacular.

If they are like other teams, they made season ticket holders buy tickets to every possible playoff game --- and if those games don't take place the money is put towards next years season tickets.

It's another one of the pathetic methods employed by Professional sports franchises to increase revenue (like 4 NFL preseason games).

Obviously they still lose out on not having those games, but they get a chunk of interest from getting all those "deposits" towards next season.
