Both have new coaches since last preseason.. don't know how this one plays out. Preseason seems to depend more on training camp roster composition and how the coach wants to run things rather than talent. Having said that, the Pistons' second string did well in heavy minutes during meaningless games at the end of last season, so this could be the correct side to be on.

I'm on Pacers, Raptors, Celtics and Grizz (all m/l), and Warriors +7.

I'm playing the Pacers ML for a couple reasons:

1. Slick Leonard will coack the Pacers for the first quarter. I think he'll fire up that team, starting some fresh faces that we don't always see for the tip-off.

2. Austin Croshere will start looking to gain the last spot on their roster before November. He should play above-average in order to make a point for his contract.

3. Hornets center Chandler busted himself up in the last game and will likely sit this one out entirely, opening up the lane for Indiana. Leonard will position them to take advantage of this early and often.

4. Chris Paul is the soul of this team, and with his participation in the Olympics he never got the proper opportunity to recharge his batteries before training camp. He will, understandably, "phone in" his performance tonight. Yes, he's a superstar, but we're all human.

That's all I've got on this game, but it's enough for a unit on the Pacers ML. The game is also on Fox Sports Indiana, so I'll get to see precisely how accurate I was about these matchups.
