He's one of the best closers I've seen since Real Quiet. Real Quiet lost in the Belmont but I'll have another might be able to Finish it if he can get a good inside trip to shorten it up a bit.

There is ZERO chance anyone in the race but IHA goes off as the favorite, even in a year where no one thought Funny Cide could win the Belmont against Empire Maker, FUnny Cide still went off favored... There will also be tons of money bet on people just taking home a souvenir win tickets on IHA

It only has action if he starts. I would think you get your money back if he is not a go.

I love the field at -120 myself, but I do think the price is fair. IHA will be around even money.

I actually want him to win this because his trainers/owners aren't dicks like Servis and Smarty Jones's owners in 2004.

I think I scared the whole neighborhood screaming and cheering for Birdstone down the stretch to win in 2004. Watching the reaction of Servis and the family of Smarty Jones's owners was priceless and one of my greatest sports memories. Definately my favorite horse race of all time.

Bookmaker has -129 on the Field, while 5 Dimes has +130 on IHA.

                        I like the field.

Drf, article: Belmont Stakes 2012: Triple Crown club ready for a new member...
The time has arrived, Patrice Wolfson said Wednesday, to pass the Triple Crown torch. Wolfson and her late husband, Lou, owned the last Triple Crown winner, Affirmed, who swept the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes in 1978. The torch has been in her hands so long, she might have third-degree burns.

Odds for I Have Another will drop close to +100 this week...

IHA just dogged a major bullet, imo. Alpha is not running in the Belmont.

That is one reason that I was surprised when I saw that he goes out to train right after the break every morning around 8-8:30 instead of 5:30-6 AM when the track first opens. Nobody trains those goofy maiden fillies first. Typically the better horses or the in today horses will go out early. Also, no gate work is scheduled until at lest 7:30 so the gate horses are not out either. Most of those types are green to some degree.
Loose horse collisions result in injury or death more often than not, at least they did for me. He was damn lucky.

That show price will depend on how many Bridge Jumpers are on IHA. Seattle Slew paid $2.10 to show in 1977 Belmont.

you wont get bridge jumpers in a race like this, even when Big Brown ran there was not a lot of show money on him, i know i bet against him and was very dissapointed in the show prices..

Players have to be careful not to get caught up in the moment .

It is a compelling story for sure, but not at all a solid 5% ROI situation IMO.

no, i dont actively search out your posts (assuming that'd be in the mlb forum???) but came across your boastful nhl forum predictions that continuously chit the bed so i figure you are that certain someone that comes along every now and then around here that 80-90% fade material. thank you for your consistent record so far in the playoffs.

like the flyers/devils threads started by you, i (now) fully expect IHA to win the triple crown this year. tell us, where would you be taking in the belmont saturday? turf club by the stadiums by any chance? ill take a ride if u feel like cappin the card together?....just the two of us?
                                                      what do ya say?

I'm rooting hard for IHA to win, but I think it will be VERY difficult to pull off. I'm thinking the play here is a Dullahan over IHA exacta, straight up, for multiple units.
Hypothetically, if it pays $12 for $2, and you play it for $200, that's $1200 easy money. Back it up with a $100 straight exacta the other way, and it will probably pay $10 for $2, so you get $500. Either way, you make a decent profit.

I don't even care about the betting on this race - I'm not going to bet a single penny - I just want to see a Triple Crown Winner before I die. Rooting HARD here for IHA. I haven't been this jacked up for a Triple Crown attempt since Smarty Jones. In such a case, the event itself transcends gambling, in my opinion.

On the bright side, if the f'ing New York METS can throw a no-hitter for the first time in 50 years, then this horse can come into New York and win the first Triple Crown in 34 years. At least it would be fitting. (Full disclosure - I am a Mets fan, and 34 years old at that, so this would be icing on the cake.)

It's $220 investment. You would need to box to cover all possible outcomes. War Emblem did not finish in the money in the belmont.
