You aren't supposed to, cashiers do not work on tips at all. It would be improper to leave a cashier a tip. I can't think of one establishment off the top of my head that would call for gratuity for a cashier.

You've never seen tip jars at starbucks, bagel places, etc ??

I always tipped those places.

But, taco bell is another story. Though I don't actually think I've ever been inside a taco bell. Drive through only.

Ah, well yes tip jars are another story. Those would likely be split among all employees, handing a tip directly to a cashier though for serving you food would be out of the question.

Taco Bell is great in that it's so close to everywhere, but if you want real Mexican food, come to Texas.

I always leave a tip at Taco Bell if the cashier is cute and I think it's +EV to give a dollar tip with a view to possibly getting a shag. More details of this theory is posted in the Think Tank.

Insane .... its one thing to not like another ethnicity due to personal experiences/politics/genetic theories/socio-economic beliefs ... that is an individuals right to reflect on his own life and call what he sees.

But to say they are bad tippers is plain bang out of line. Big time.

You Americans .. what is it with tipping and funny taxes and all that stuff. Just add 10% onto every price in the country and get rid of this fiasco.

There again, for obvious racial reasons, I dont think Obama is likely to bring in such comulsory tipping.
