have not heard the new AC/DC, my preference is for anything Prior to and including Backin Black, basically the Bon Scott days.

No Metallica in Champaign this time, they played at Assembly Hall on the Black album tour in March of 1992, lots of the video for "wherever i may roam" were filmed here..But i am seeing them in Moline on Nov 8th, sooner than the Chicago shows and a little closer for me that the St Louis show, and its also on a Saturday which is easier to get to. Can't wait, one of the best shows i ever saw was theirs in early 97 in Chicago on the Load tour when the stage fell apart, on purpose!

There's no doubt that all the songs and bands you guys mentioned are great, but I feel the need for a public service announcement: There are tons of great bands out there today too -- just NOT the corporate rock on the radio or MTV.

As much as I loved all the early 90s grunge/alt-rock/whatever, I CANNOT LISTEN TO ANY OF THOSE TUNES ANYMORE -- totally sick of them. In Boston there's a station that like ONLY plays that stuff. It's 15 years old now! I'm sick of it!

Again, tons of great stuff, just under the surface... If you love music, make it your business to dig around... I'd be happy to provide recommendations. Doesn't matter the type, I listen to everything. There is great music in all genres out there. Rock, metal, hip-hop, electronic, jazz, experimental, dance, whatever. But you dudes need to move past the 90s. Or the 80s, 70s, or 60s too!

As great as the early 90's were, nothing will surpass the late 60's, the rolling stones, the beatles, Led zeppelin, the doors, all at their peaks, especially the Stones, their albums from Beggars Banquet through Goat Heads Soup, basically the Mick Taylor years and pretty much as good as it gets.
