Went to see the new Adam Sandler movie "That's My Boy" last night. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much. But to my surprise....it was AWESOME! Really, really good. I was shocked.

I'm not what I would call a huge Adam Sandler fan. I've seen lots of his movies, and in my opinion, most of them sucked. I saw Jack & Jill last year, and its still one of the worst movies I've ever seen. But this was really enjoyable. If your formative teen years were in the late 80's to early 90's like mine (and obviously Sandler's), then I don't see how you won't like this flick. I could relate to so much of this film, that I found myself sitting there smiling while having flashbacks of that time period.

Best part of this story is that my wife wanted me to go see "Rock of Ages". I almost did, but shortly before we left I checked out a trailer and realized this is a FUKKIN' MUSICAL! I made it clear to her that I ain't going to see no fukkin' movie where fukks break out in song while they're talking to one another. So we made the agreement that she would go to "Rock of Ages", and I would see "Thats My Boy". She admitted that "Rock of Ages" was pretty gay, and was clearly shaken by my glowing accolades over my flick. She now wants to go back and see it. She's sick jealous of my chuckling to myself over parts of the movie. I buried her ass on this deal. Sweet.

wow can't believe someone over the age of 30 would still see an adam sandler film but if opie likes it maybe i'll check it out. he was so irritating in movies like the waterboy and little nicky (characters and voices were like nails on a chalkboard).
although thinking back, anger management, click, and funny people were pretty good.

prometheus in imax 3d was awesome, i also liked the avengers in 3d.

they email you with free sneak preview movie passes, i was offered 2 tickets to that's my boy 3 separate times.

the only downside is you have to get there 1/2 hour to an hour early because they overbook the freebie passes, but if they let you in the door right away (depends on the theater) you can watch something else to pass the time.

that's my boy will be the lowest opening weekend ever for adam sandler with about $13 million
rock of ages only about $15 million
