    Matt Kemp goes on DL
BASEBALL: Dodgers win, but Kemp goes on DLBy J.P. Hoornstra, Staff Writer
    Posted: 05/14/2012 10:26:17 PM PDT

LOS ANGELES - Matt Kemp spent much of his Monday night in the Dodger dugout, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt over his jersey.
Occasionally the hood would fall down to his shoulder, exposing Kemp's ears to the still 62-degree air that passes for cold in these parts, and forcing the center fielder to lift the hood back up and over his head.

These are not the usual rhythms of baseball, but they ticked off the seconds of the game's longest active iron-man streak - 399 consecutive games - while the Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1 at Dodger Stadium.

After the game, Kemp was placed on the 15-day DL and Jerry Sands was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque.

I just want to add that it makes me think how Cal Ripken's 2,000+ game record is just that much more impressive.

Big loss for sure, but maybe now people will start to recognize how great of a year Either is having.

That might explain why Kemp has slumped recently.

See ball hit ball. Jog around the bases. Simple.
