Anyone here have a betting shrine?
The president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, Cardinal Renato Martino, has announced the recipients of the St. Matthew Foundation Awards for outstanding service in solidarity and social justice. One of the recipients this year is the Argentinean Fr. Pedro Opeka, who has worked with the poor in Madagascar since 1989.

The Holy Father says that if we base our lives on money then we are bound to fail. So I was wondering, does anyone have a little shrine with some candles, little statues of saints (I can think of a few people here that need a statue of Saint Bernadine of Siena, patron saint of degenerate gamblers, e.g. EnglishMike), a cross, maybe even a little bottle of holy water from the nearest font?

I don't pray over any of my wagers, but I do have a little shrine to pray at for other, more serious, occasions. I'd love to hear about this from others.

At the same time, the Catholic Church has been more than happy to take my money and ask for more.

No sports shrine for me to pray at, but I do think we should all get little statues of EnglishMike to adorn our computer monitors.

BRILLIANT! I have a lathe and I live in one of the most beautiful forests in the world! All I need is a 3-D rendering of EnglishMike and I'll sell the statues for a pittance, just to help the cause. Willie Bee, you're quickly becoming my favorite mod. Although CrazyL is a very close second, seeing as how I'm his ghost and all.

I don't have a religious shrine, but I have a set of 9 bulls about the size of my thumb nail each. I always keep them in my place in South Africa in a formation of 3 rows. There are 7 black bulls and two golden ones.

Two of them have their horns up, two of them have their horns down, four of them have them forward and one doesn't have any horns. One golden one go in the middle row right, the hornless one -black - goes in the first row middle. The three at the back have the horns facing forward. The other forward horn one goes in the first row left. The others have no meaning in rotation.

They must be, at all time, in rotation and none be fallen down. If anything goes bad for me, in bets in life in safety, I'm thinking one of them must be fallen down. Everytime I call home I'm always asking about them. The only place I take them is to Angola, they have never left Africa and they never will.

I call them 'Os meus Touros'.
