oil at $90- 8 month low
    Oil: $143
    Gas: $4.03

    Oil: $90 -37%
    Gas: $3.57 -11.5%

should be $2.70 but the gas companies will never let anyone hurt their growing profits.

All I know is it was $3.35 a gallon on Saturday when I filled up, and it's nice not to drop a Benjamin each time I fill up my tank.

Pic, I'm pretty sure whatever problem it is, it's the fault of the donkeys. Now, all of you elephants rush to straighten your halos. Annnnnnnnnd, GO!

Pretty soon noone can afford to buy $30,000 trucks so the prices will dip to $2 a gallon. This is just the beginning. Once the mortgage crisis is resolved the next crisis will be the automobile loan crisis. You will never see again McDonald's workers driving Escalade's on 84 month loans at 0%.

I wish it would have some effect on the gas prices where I live. Our peak here was $4.69 for regular, and even with the price of crude falling, we're still paying $4.22 for regular and over $4.50 for diesel.

For what it's worth, it doesn't look like the increase in the price of oil was really priced into begin with. e.g.:
          06/04/2007 gas price: 317 06/01/2007 oil price: $62.10
          07/07/2008 gas price: 409.9 07/04/2008 oil price: $133.60

The refineries still haven't completely recovered from Ike. I think prices will drop in the next few weeks.

We need oil to get back down to about $60 a barrel to get economy going again

I would normally agree but there was a disparity before Ike even hit. I said this once and I say it again- the oil companies have to make an increasing profit or their stock starts to take a dip. The only way they can do that with a lessoning in demand is to keep gas prices high while oil dips. They could care less that they have destroyed the economy and only care about those multi million dollar bonus checks they get.

Wholesale Unleaded futures dropped to $2.09 -- add the .70 markup by retailers/haulers, and Gas should be $2.79 in the coming two-three weeks.

Hard to believe this thread was made a little over a week ago and prices where I live have not moved much.

                              Oil: $70 -51%
                              Gas: $3.33 -17%

While oil has dropped another 14% gas has dropped 5.5%

And the neocons still think drilling the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is the answer to lowering oil prices.

Here in Atlanta the gas is $2.49. Where are you paying $3.33?

Bankrupting the country with 2 trillion dollar deficit will drive the price of oil to $20 a barrel.
