Ron Turner is much better, his brother has a lot better coaching knowledge.

How could you expect Norv to know about the "Wildcat" formation?

Oh wait, Miami used it in their last game against New England.

I did bet the Dolphins, but nothng to do with Turner's alleged lack of coaching ability.

Turner wasn't responsibe for Merriman's knee problem

                  Nor for LT's nagging injuries.

Nor for the sceduling deal, second of two road games crossing three time zones as a TD fave.

(Nor, by the way, later this month, for their "road" game vs new Orleans ---- in London. NFL greed to expand markets fouling the balance of the game)

The GM in San Diego hand picked Norv to follow Marty. Norv isn't going anywhere...

San Diego will still make the playoffs though. This game is just the influx of parity that
                          the NFL is today.

I've only got one team coming out of the AFC West. The AFC is just too tough, 10-6 may not make it again this year. The Pats & Bills should get in with the easy schedule, and suddenly the Dolphins are looking interesting. Look at the Titans, either Indy or Jax is out and maybe both. San Diego is in a similar situation. There's basically one playoff spot left for Indy, Jax, SD as well as interesting teams like Miami, Balt, NYJ, maybe even Houston & Cleveland. It's tough to make a case that SD gets that wildcard spot. Otherwise, they've got to catch Denver, which is looking tougher every week.

As for Norv Turner, he's in an impossible spot. I mean they fired Marty after maybe coaching the best season in San Diego history, how confident can Norv feel about his job? Not to mention that this team is looking beat up with LT fading away, losing Merriman, etc. I hope Norv keeps his job no matter what happens this season. But this IS the Chargers and there's always been questions about how this franchise is run, just ask the Manning family.

Chargers may not even make playoffs, as that blown refs call at Denver may turn out to be tiebreaker.

Norv has never been in a good coaching situation. With the Redskins, he had Danny boy's hand so far up his ass that he was basically a hand puppet, a toy. With the Raiders, Norv was under Al Davis' heel getting ground into the cement like a cigarette butt.

San Diego has been Norv's best shot to date, but I'm sure many veteran coaches would suggest the Chargers wouldn't an ideal team to go and coach. Even so, anything less than a Super Bowl is a failure at this point for this team and Norv got them right to the doorstep. If not for injuries they should have gotten there, IMHO, maybe even matching up better against the Giants than the Pats. Just bad luck again for Norv.

                                          LT,
Hoculi's call was bad...no question about it...but the Chargers are not the first team in the history of the NFL to lose because of a bad call...

The Chargers could have stopped the Panthers from scoring on the last play of the game the week before...BUT THEY DIDN'T...

Even after Hoculi's terrible call, the Chargers could have stopped the Broncos on 4th and goal or the two-point coversioin and STILL WON THE GAME BUT THEY DIDN'T.

And they could have come east and beat the Dolphins...BUT THEY DIDN'T.

They may not make the playoffs, but Hoculi's call won't be the reason they don't make it.

Even more, you can't blame Hoculi as much as you should blame the NFL rule which prohibited him from changing the call on the field when he was clear that he'd made the wrong call. Let the ref change that call and fix the mistake on the field, NFL!
