so much media attention on gay marriage and hair cutting from the 1960's...too bad they'll never get to the real issues like job creation/lowering national debt/still fighting in afghanistan

#37It makes me laugh that you think EITHER Obama or Romney is going to be able to turn around the economy...yea right and brock landers is gonna be able to recover his losses and put the bookies out of business soon
You got one liberal who's biggest concern is opening the borders to let the wetbacks reconquest the country and you got a billionaire ultraconservative who's only concern is lowering the top 1% tax rate from 15% to 0%, yea Im fuckin sure the economy's gonna be booming with either of them
First off if the country is half as ****** as you ppl know it is there IS NO solution, what are you gonna do force companies to quit sending all the jobs to shitholes where they can pay 50 cents an hour? Take your fuckin 9/hr job at the perfume counter at Macy's and be happy bc that's all that's gonna be left soon since all the manufacturing that made this country rich is now done in Mexico and China where they'll work for literally nothing while 30% of Americans are already so poor they're on food stampsComment -

#38You don't get it Cougar. These cats will throw any and every red herring out there possible to distract the general public from the fact that neither one of them can -- or will -- fix the economy.Comment -

#39That's because they don't know how to solve those issues, or are powerless against them for a multitude of reasons. Gay marriage, bully haircuts -- whatever. All convenient diversions.Originally posted by Killer_Demoso much media attention on gay marriage and hair cutting from the 1960's...too bad they'll never get to the real issues like job creation/lowering national debt/still fighting in afghanistanComment -

#40Hey Cougs, do you think it'd be any different if McCain were prez? How about Bush Jr. (oh wait, it wasn't).Originally posted by Cougar BaitWell, this is easy. Since I didn't start a thread on the subject I really don't have to defend what Romney did or didn't do at Bain capital. However, what I could reference is the fuckstorm that Obama the failure has perpetuated on the US economy. If you really want some facts look up the current inflation numbers, then add the gas and food costs to those numbers since Obama decided he wanted to omit them this time around.
President could be ________ (fill in the blank with whatever puppet you choose). Democrat or Republican, these guys are way too in bed with big business and big oil to see the kind of "change" you're looking for.
This isn't an Obama issue or a Bush issue or a Romney issue -- it's a corrupt politicians of the United States of America issue. Quid pro quo.Comment -

#41But do you trust him opie?Originally posted by opie1988Anyone who is enough of a simpleton to imply that Obama is more qualified over Romney to run the LARGEST CORPORATION IN THE WORLD is simply a complete fukkin' idiot.
Think about it for a minute. I know you know his business track record -- but do you trust him?
And please don't respond by saying "I don't trust Obama." That's the problem. You all are so busy pointing fingers at the other side that you don't see the sinking ship that is America in front of you, and none of these crooked politicians are in the business of saving their "constituents."Comment -

Corporatrions run this country.

#48It's funny how forums are such a small sample size of the population yet such a perfect representation of the way the public thinks. You can use this place as a way of getting an inside track on the public's mindset when it comes to betting and even politics. Just goes to show how easily the public can be manipulated through the media and it is kind of scary.Originally posted by No coincidencesExactly what I'm talking about right here.

#50whats funny is how people think the presidency actually matter anymore, or politcal parties in general.
Its all corrupt. The US government was initially set up FOR the people BY the people, meaning the citizens were the bosses who told politicians what to do. Now it is all secrets and scams and back room deals. Voting new people in doesnt change shit as they get corrupted as soon as they step foot in there with all the money special interests and lobbyist throw around.
There is only one way to change it and I said it along time ago, get ALL the money and donations out of politics. No more favors, and any sort of preferential treatment perceived or real is dealt with with immediate dismissal from office. A no tolerance policy basically.
Obama even threatened to raise taxes on gas, and the gas companies just said they would raise prices to counteract it. Just another example why 'capitalism' doesnt work. Because once they weed out any sort of competition the survivors can then set up price fixing scams and control everything.
It all trickles down to the masses eventually. The state of the standard of living we have to endure is a product of all of the shit that goes on. Including athletes getting over paid. If these stiffs werent getting paid millions of daollars then TV would still be relatively cheap if not free, if TV were still free or a lot cheaper advertisers would have to spend billions to get packages on the networks, and if advertisers didnt have to spend so much soup would be 25 cents a can instead of 3 dollars. It is all connected, but since there are 300 million (I know there are more than that but they dont all contribute) people in this country that help support the system they have all the people they need to put money in their pockets.
Now that we have been put into a 'global' economy it is even worse. Because the dollar has no real backing it is at the beck and call of its 'value' in relationship to other currencies (that arent worth shit either). But really nothing people can do about it now.Comment -
