Honestly, I could retire everyone in the Cubs lineup consistently besides Castro and lahair. And I probably barely throw 80 these days. Our lineup is so pathetic. Soto is an automatic out.

It'd be a foolish bet probably. I hit as high as 87 4 years ago when I still played baseball and I threw at a fair speed pitch around last September and hit 81. My arm hurts more and more every year it seems though so maybe it'd be close.

When you stop throwing and long tossing, your arm strength just disappears. I think i could hit 80 a few times and then my shoulder would hurt badly for a week or so.

Yep. The rest of the lineup is terrible. But with Castro and LaHair and some promising prospects waiting in the wings like Rizzo and Brett Jackson, there should be some upside on the way.
