I keep watching the replay and the guy hit him with a little rabbit tap and down went kimbo. No way it would have hurt him. The only thing I can think of is it opened up his eye and he got straight hit in the eye which probably caused temp blindness, pain, and dizzyness.

I think what really hurt him was the 2nd punch, not the jab...I mean the jab connected and rocked him...but the 2nd punch was a straight blow to the back of the head.... It was straight down and to the back of the head... in the UFC that's an illegal blow... but I don't know what they would have done.

Great point. I saw the same thing.

I also couldn't believe that rabbit punch rocked him. It all looked pretty hard to believe. But then again, they're throwing so fast and furious that the camera can't really keep up with the action. They never seemed to have the perfect camera angles even in the slow-mo instant replay.

Also, during the replay, the announcers were saying that Seth was throwing power punches during the flurry that put Kimbo down. I've never done any boxing, but the punches just looked like little jabs coming from the hip. It's hard to imagine they were that powerful, it's not like he's throwing Chuck Liddell style haymakers out there.

I like how kimbo acted like a 5 year old during the interveiw after the loss... You could tell he was crushed I dont know if a tough guy like kimbo sheds a tear but i know that crushed him you could see it on his face... Oh and seth petruzzeli (sp) hes probably a tougher fight than ken shamrock at this point seth is coming to fight and hes not 44 years old past his prime grappler who hasnt won a fight since 2004. There was a reason kimbo was fighting the "worlds most dangerous Can" It was to use Shamrock as a stepping stone. PS Seth would probably beat up Ken too.

We were out last night so I missed the fight...apparently I didn't miss much.

I just watched the video of the KO. No WAY he fell down that easy. I am sure once he was down, he took some legitimate blows that forced the ref to call the fight, but the way he went down is highly suspicious.

I bet Kimbo against Shamrock, now I am glad that fight didn't happen. Shamrock is a joke, but Kimbo went down way to fast to be betting any fighter at -400.

Yep the more I watch that fight the more I think it was rigged. There is no way that first 'tap' hurt kimbo. I have seen him face huge black guys who hit him with hard shots and he takes it no problem. It had to be the cut eye that blinded him or something.

Kimbo was rocked by that punch you can see his body go limp. Worse thing that could happen to Elite XC was Kimbo going down like that....

But I'm suprised nothing was said about the blow to the back of the head...thats an illegal blow and I believe the fighter gets 5 minutes to recover... in UFC...or the other guy could be just disqualified.

I was over at a friend's house cooking out watching the AU-Vandy game. My friends are into all that extreme fighting so they wanted to watch the fight. I had heard of Kimbo of course and thought it was odd that Shamrock was scratched with Petruzelli filling in. I hit my book's site checked the odds just to see what they were. I threw a dollar down on Petruzelli at +330 about 3 mins before the fight started. I walked in the living room, fight started and 10 seconds later I was like "WOW! That was the easiest $330 I've ever made!" First fight I had ever wagered on...

anyone who thinks this fight was fixed therte dead wrong, if anything it would have been fixed the other way with Kimbo getting the win. He's the face of EliteXC even though he's only had 4 MMA fights. Plus you could see Jared Shaw one of the promoters of the fight sitting cage side screaming at the ref he was hiting behind the head, then putting his head down in frustration when the fight was over.
