Anyone ever gamble-bet in St.Maarten?Is it euro stuffy or Vegas like?

Half the island of St.Maarten is owned by the French,half by the Dutch.You don't even know you are crossing the border except for the fact one side only has gambling and betting.Has anyone here ever been there when in the Caribbean?They run some dirt cheap last minute flights on MLT travel out of many places including the twin cities in Minnesota.I suppose once you get there,everything is expensive though.

I have a hunch it's sort of a stuffy euro atmosphere in the casinos and not an open casual style like Las Vegas.Am I right on that?

They use to model them to the Monaco style but with so many North Americans they changed bit by bit. Now its a mix of both, that 'caribbean style' casinos.

St Martin/St Maarten is the jurisdictional best kept secret for our type of enterprises in the caribbean. If you want complete flexibility and reliability in financial dealings there's no better place.

Yep things can get expensive, the french side accepts Euros and just that will make it feel expensive out of the bat. No different than any other fancy tourist destination, the tourists will get trapped when it comes to prices. But it could be cheap to live there once you figured out the local's style.

Do they have sports betting there? Of interest since I will be in the area (Anguilla) semi-frequently in the future.

Not all of them, but some do. American sports only, with moneyline odds.
