The 2008 Devil Rays remind me of:
The 2008 Devil Rays are really starting to remind me of the World Champion 1990 Cincy Reds. These boys definately play with a cockiness and an attitude. Most importantly they will not be intimidated by the "old guard". A nice mix of youth and veterans, excellent starting pitching, and a bullpen that doesnt back down to anyone. Lets not forget, they can "mash"! Too bad Percival is hurt, it would have been fun watching him on the mound in tight games. They have sold me......Lets go Rays!

still... tampa bay doesn't deserve the Rays... (no devil anymore by the way)..... give this team to a knowledgable baseball town... or at least to a more deserving town like kansas city

            yeah

nasty boys, dibble, charleton and somone else...threw some nasty cheese.

glenn braggs breaking bats over his back when he swung and missed..

hal morris and paul o'neil punting balls into the infield from right field...

that A's team was so mythical with mac and canseco... maybe the first team to start juicing in mass in mlb way before we knew it was a problem.. weiss, lansford, steinback, all this short stubby dudes with huge forearms... and we didn't question a thing

right on man. This was my era. I remember them as rookies, now there long gone.
                    How about that barehanded catch.
Paul O'niel. How many championships did he win? I know NYY never won one after he left.
I used to love the Pirates too. Bobby Bonilla was my favorite. Jose Lind, Spanky Lavalliere, Bonds.

Its funny how you forget so many people until someone brings it up.

dude don't get me started on the pirates of that era.....i'm a life long pirates fan... and being born not old enough to witness the we are family willie stargell world series winners.... the closest i've been to a winner are the 90 91 pirates.... so I pretty much relieve those seasons every year... in my mind... bonds never left to become a giant, bonilla never went to the mets.... van slyke is still manning center field... and spanky and don slaught are doning the tools of ignorance.. john cangelosi is pinch running, and John Smiley and Doug Drabek are keeping batters flustered...... leyland is smoking cigs in the run way and jim gott is coming in to close the games out after jeff robinson set him up..

those were the days in baseball for this young man.. I didn't get to see williams, dimaggio, aaron, mays,...but i vividly remember strawberry, eric davis, wade boggs, don mattingly, and kirby fukkin puckett..

that barehanded catch of mitchell down the left field line in foul territory was the stuff of legends.... I mean who does that?

only a dude that learns how to hit curveballs from having his mom throw him wiffle ball curveballs as a youngster

                              wow this is great stuff.

I'm sure you still remember old ass Sid Bream circling the bases.

At one time I used to know every player on every team. Couldn't name one per team now.

I was glad that Bobby Bonilla and Leyland at least got to win the WS with Florida. This was towards the very end of my baseball interest(for lack of better word)
