KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera was taken off the field at Kauffman Stadium on a cart after apparently injuring his right knee while shagging flies during batting practice.

He has been doing it for years? he obviously enjoys doing it and would have wake him a little before a game. Try and stop him and you are more likely to bore the guy to death before the game has even started. No point in having an unhappy player.

As a Yankees fan, I just feel bad more for Mo than I do about the team.....The Yankees will be fine with Robertson and Soriano. Just sucks if this is how he goes out.....Gotta think he makes a comeback next season, or maybe even late in the playoffs (doubtful, but who knows)
