Rogie, I have been to El Paso many times. I have camped along the Rio Grande. Let me tell you Rogie, the biggest sh!t going on right now is across the Laredo border. They are having bazooka fights in the middle of the city. I have been in every mexican city along the border and then some(everything along the coast). Laredo is the place to avoid right now.

I just read a great book about... crossing the border...what was that book... enrique's journey??? true story... kid tries to ride the trains from somewhere way south in s. america to cross the border and fails 12 times...and then finally gets through on his 13th... only to arrive to a fukked up life in N.C with his mother who left him when he was 5 years old, in order to provide for him and his sister
