Any video gamers here?How does Nintendo game cube measure up to the newest systems?

I always get the older falling out of favor game systems because you can get the games for a fraction of the cost they once sold for.I just bought a used Nintendo game cube for $12.50+$12.50 shipping=$25 on E-Bay from a guy that sells thousands and has a 100% favorable rating.

So how does a Nintendo game cube rank or measure up to the newest systems with all the bells and whistles?

Not sure, the PS3 is nice in that it also is a Blu-Ray player, which can run you $200 itself. So it's more than just a conventional gaming system, it's a nice complement to any HDTV set.

I had a GC like 8 years ago. don't even remember what it was like. But usually the Mario games are good.

its actually got mostly the same processing power as the wii, so graphics are decent. games are pretty hard to find nowadays, supports dropped off pretty early in the systems life. still a decent library though.

you can find games dirt cheap, its known for the classics like zelda and mario kart and all the mario games but failed because people were buying the other titles like madden on xbox/ps2...still a good bargain. i bought an original NES on ebay once with 50 games thinking it would be fun, played it for a day and a half and never again.

It depends what kind of games you like playing. I play old systems all the time, but it's always about the games.
For sports games, Gamecube is terrible - between the load times and the load off the memorty card times, it was a disaster. But then again, all systems from that generation are, also.

There are a few decent games for it - and the system has very good longevity to it (another important factor). I wouldn't buy older xbox or PS systems - they don't last. Gamecube does.

nothing better than the Xbox 360, you can download the old games as they were in the arcade, pretty amazing how simple they are.

gamecube was good
wii is crap

do you like zelda, metroid and mario? if so, but nintendo
otherwise pass

yeah the metroid games on the cube were really solid
the zelda was o.k.
i played tiger woods the most out of the sports games - madden was kind of clunky with that controller, but it's still playable. it's even got mike vick in the madden!! relive the glory years!
