#38I think I will start a thread of my own then, with new picks and I will put a £1000 balance and give it a go, it would be fun!Originally posted by shimeon40post your picks dontknowhowto...i don't mind being limited by a bookie..there would be plenty here that'd be a first for..and we are all in different countries so who cares.

I prefer Basketball instead and if that's not possible then American Football, NCAA Basketball and AF, things like that.

As soon as I find 1st game to bet on I would deposit and start my own topic.
Right now I don't see any games to play.Comment -

#44You make a few good bets then £1000 --> £2000, you take back the £1000 you deposited and continue with the £1000 to make another £1000 ... then you have £1000 to back you up etc etc ...Originally posted by AntibetIt _is_ a losing proposition. It's hard to get there, that's why you gotta be selective about the games ...Comment -

#49TrolololololololOriginally posted by dontknowhowtobetYou can also look at it from this aspect:
I could have risked £50 to win £60 but then the risk would have been much greater.
Instead of playing "into the bookies mind" I avoid using their ridiculous handicap and choose to play MONEY LINE which is like being a bookie yourself, so if you have a big more budget (£300 instead of £50) you make the same money with "good sleep" at night.Comment -

#50Tennis isn't crap if you do your research.Originally posted by dontknowhowtobetTennis is CRAP to bet on.

Tennis isn't my 1st priority at all.
I'm 149-33 for the first 3 months of this year (almost 82% win ratio) although I've stopped at the moment as I emptied my account to buy another car. I'll start up soon when I put a little bank together again.
I have my boundaries I operate in and do reasonably well. Certainly not retiring any time soon but was in profit nicely when I emptied my account. You just need to be diciplined with the bets you place and be prepared to handle the losses as they do come regardless of how short the favourite is. Like anyone else in life, people have 'off-days', and lose matches they would normally win.
All this being said, team sports should have favourites winning more often as even if a certain player is having an 'off-day', the rest of the team should be able to cover, hence the favouritism.Comment -

#54Good luck, however what always happens is a good run of easy winners is wiped out in that one game where the unthinkable happens & the heavy favourite loses. It's bound to occur eventually so it's good idea to only do this strategy a couple of times. Having said that, a 5%-10% return on a good sized amount, say $10k, in a day, beats what most banks will give you in a year. But these low odds don't reflect actual risk. Look at the OKC/Dallas games, 1.25 for the home team. Pacers/Magic were about the same.
