McCain camp targets Biden's gaffes ahead of debate

John McCain's campaign released a Web ad hours before the vice presidential debate that highlights embarrassing statements from Joe Biden and sarcastically asks what the Delaware senator might say Thursday night.

The McCain campaign has been touting Biden's debating skills in an effort to raise expectations of the Democratic VP candidate ahead of his only face-off with rival Sarah Palin — but takes the opposite approach in the new video.

"What might Joe Biden say at tonight's debate? Anything's possible," the announcer says before clips of past Biden gaffes are shown, including a 1987 town-hall where he told a voter, "I think I probably have a much higher IQ than you do."

Other now-famous Biden moments shown in the ad include his off-the-cuff statement two years ago that "you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent…I'm not joking."

The ad also includes newly-minted gaffes from the campaign trail, including a September rally during which he accidentally told a man in a wheel chair to "stand up…let them see you," and a town-hall one month ago when he praised Hillary Clinton and said she "might have been a better pick than me."

"Ready to gaffe? Yes. Ready to lead? No," the ad's announcer says.

Last week, the RNC launched “The Joe Biden Gaffe Timeline,” a Web site that features “an interactive timeline, map, and videos to track Biden’s most noteworthy fumbles and missteps since becoming Barack Obama’s running mate.”

They didn't even include his claim that Roosevelt went on TV in 1929 to talk about the stock market crash.

Or his ridiculous claim that there is a consensus over Roe vs Wade when it is one of the most contentious topics around.

That's not what he said, but I'll leave it to you look up his full, eaxct quote so you can prove yourself untruthful

Sarah Palin was absolutely right to decline to name Supreme Court cases -- other than Roe v. Wade -- that she disagrees with.

There's a lot of mockery of Sarah Palin's performance responding to Katie Couric's questions about Roe v. Wade . (There's a video clip at ...

I know it probably goes over your head, but that was a tongue in cheek comment. She doesn't really believe that makes her a foreign policy expert.

Poll: Obama grabs lead in key swing states

                By STEVEN R. HURST
                Associated Press
                2008-10-02 06:31 AM

A new poll released Wednesday showed Democrat Barack Obama pulling ahead of Republican opponent John McCain in the key swing states of Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania, as their vice presidential running mates were sequestered in preparations for a much-anticipated debate.

In a separate poll by The Associated Press and GfK, Obama surged to a seven-point lead, 48-41 percent, nationally _ a dramatic shift from an AP-GfK survey that gave McCain a slight edge nearly three weeks ago.

But since the presidential election is won on a state-by-state basis rather than a nationwide popular vote, Obama's lead in the swing states in a survey by Quinnipiac University may be more telling.

The Quinnipiac survey over the weekend showed Obama's support had jumped to 50 percent or above in the must-win states, reflecting voter preferences after he and McCain held their first presidential debate last week.

The new survey shows Obama leading McCain in Florida 51 percent to 43 percent, in Ohio 50 percent to 42 percent and in Pennsylvania 54 percent to 39 percent. Since 1960, no president has been elected without winning two of those three states.

                Kill yourself.

I'm noticing a distinct positive correlation between the magnitude and frequency of crap posted by ms61853 and Obama's share of the national vote.

On behalf of all Obama fans, keep posting ms61853.

In that Couric interview - Palin could've just said 'Dred Scott' and would've come out smelling like roses... Instead of idle blather about nothing. But then again, I think I just lost a few people here in saying that.
