"Called to the scene, police interviewed the victim and Young was sent to the hospital. It was unclear whether the victim was Jewish, Cavitolo said."
is this the same young that got a big suspension in minor league for throwing his bat at an umpire?

you can be in a convo home and manage a baseball game. hell, you could be on an island watching the game and simply call in the decisions with your cell

Young makes anti-Semitic comment in New York? Nice, the NY media is going to blast him Mel Gibson style.

paco, managers aren't necessary
get a computer and save the team money. o/c, who would then coddle and suck all the dicks of the players?

Interesting thing about the M's, but Pinella did not like Ichiro at all. He felt that Ichiro's persona and arrogance was inexcusable. Bret Boone and a couple other notable M's also had issues with him. After Pinella left, they brought in wishy-washy Managers that stood back and didn't ruffle Ichiro's feathers...instead, they'd try to sign "clubhouse" leaders who'd do the talking, such as Everett. The club collapsed and I think part of it is due to a lack of tone being set and expectation to win. Some managers have it. Some teams have outspoken players that have it, whereas the managesr can then be a little more reserved.
Side note: did business with a South Korean researcher several years back and was struggling to make convo. Told him that I was a big M's fan and enjoyed watching Ichiro hit. He cringed and said that Ichiro is the equivalent to ARod, where almost everyone in Japan and South Korea dislikes him for the same reasons that Pinella did.

Here's my question: What the hell was he doing in the hotel lobby at 2:40 am so drunk that he had to be taken to hospital, on the same day he was supposed to be playing the Yankees in New York, and especially after getting swept at home by the Mariners? You'd think that's exactly the type of game he would try to be rested and focused for, or at least not have a hangover. It's just disgusting how little some of these pro athletes care about the game. Gee, I wonder why he's not hitting worth a damn this year.

I believe that to many athletes, playing the game is just a big paycheck and they don't have it in them to take it much more seriously than that...especially if their images of themselves are humbled and they never get over the fact that they aren't as good as they believed they were.

Detroit just fired Leyland for this guy to smooth things over with the fans....
"Oye! Should I have my player steal second? Stealing is a sin."
