Won the 2nd game 104-102 but didn't react right. Had double-digit lead in first half but then let it slip away to lead at HT by only one.


Going into game 3 they are a -2.5 fave. Has the feel of a Llamados win SU.

Manila, Philippines – Thirty two of 47 teams that won Game 3 after splitting the first two matches went on to win a best-of-seven series in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
This will be on everyone’s mind when Talk `N Text and B-Meg break the deadlock tonight in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
In a series pitting evenly-matched squads, the 70-percent success rate is a huge boost in confidence, making tonight’s match doubly important.
“In a series between two evenly matched teams, it always boils down to almost one possession,“ said Talk `N Text coach Chot Reyes.
“We just tied the series. Let’s see if we can get a step ahead in Game 3. I’m sure they’re going to come back. We have to play 48 minutes basketball… we need to be able to play full concentration. It’s a battle of attrition, we just have to suck it up and find ways to win.“
Jayson Castro, bad foot and all, played a key role in the Texters’ come-from-behind 104-102 win Wednesday. He scored 23 points after being held to just five points in just 18 minutes in Game 1.
His three-point shot with 35.7 seconds left gave the Texters the lead for good, 100-99.
“He’s just going really on guts,“ said Reyes of the spitfire Castro, who prior to his big basket missed his first three attempts from threepoint territory.
That makes Castro a contender for the Excelroof Finals MVP.
Castro, together with Ryan Reyes (13 points) and reigning MVP Jimmy Alapag, allowed the Texters to control the game’s tempo.
The Texters limited their turnover to just seven from 20 errors in Game 1.
TNT also shot better from the foul line, making 31-of-43 (72.1 percent) after it went 16-of36 (44.4 percent) free throws in the previous game.
Reyes’ two free throws with eight ticks left in the clock gave the Texters 102-99 lead.
Alapag, who scored all three points from the stripe after missing his four attempts from the trifecta, sealed the win with his own two gift shots to make it 104-100 with four seconds left. B-Meg import Denzel Bowles had earlier split his free throws.
B-Meg, on the other hand, hopes to bounce back after squandering a 99-94 advantage with 1:38 left to play.
After the Texters seized the lead, 100-99, the Llamados had their chances to win, but Bowles missed twice on separate occasions, and Yap’s hurried shot from the right side with 20 seconds left off a timeout hit the top end of the backboard.
All the chances came when TNT missed four free throws in succession.
“We shot ourselves in the foot,“ said B-Meg coach Tim Cone. “They stole the game from us, and it makes you feel bad. But I’m proud of our guys. We overcame a lot and had the game under control but we just couldn’t get that last basket.“
“It’s over and done with, well get refocused. All they did was tie it,“ added Cone.
The 6-foot-10 Bowles, the favorite to win the Best Import award, finished with 33 points and 13 boards in Game 2, and he’s expected to lead the Llamados’ charge anew together with Yap, who had 25 points after scoring just nine in Game 1.
PJ Simon, who was held to 10 points after scattering 18 in Game 1, hopes to redeem himself in Game 3.
