Are the 2011-2012 Charlotte Bobcats the worst singular season in sports history?
    If not, who is?

    Other candidates:

The 2008 Detroit Lions. The only NFL team to ever go 0-16.

The 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They went 0-14, and followed that up the next season by losing their first 12 straight.

The 1973 Philadelphia 76ers. They were proud owners of a 9-73 record, still the lowest percentage in NBA history.

The 1962 Mets famously went 40-120.

The modern day Detroit Tigers of 2003 went 43-119.

    Who have you got?

Bobcats will have the worst win % in NBA history after the next 2 games. Don't blame them, blame their GM.

real shame since NC is a hardcore basketball state plus charlotte is one of the fastest growing cities in the country

                            The 1974-75 Washington Capitals.

8–67–5 record. 21 points. 8 wins in 80 games. 1 win and 39 losses on the road.

That's pretty bad. Even worse than the 1973 76ers winning percentage.

Going 0-16 in the NFL is possibly the most demoralizing event in sports history. Nobody but gamblers pay attention to the NBA on a day to day basis, so to many Bobocats pathetic season will go unnoticed. If you do not gamble then you could not name 3 guys on the Bobcats starting lineup.

                                  Congratulations to the Charlotte Bobcats.

Due to hard work and season-long dedication, they have just achieved the greatest losing percentage in NBA history.

Here is to you Michael Jordan, Paul Silas, and a roster of no-name NBA players.

How the fuk does this bum Michael Jordan get away with being such a GM. I didn't watch a minute of the pregame or half time show, but I hope Charles Barkley blasts MJ.

i'd venture to say that there would be multiple euro league teams who would be favored over the bobcats
