#4Serious
I think it is true, but wait he included bonuses and whatever other perks you get playing slots for long periods of times. I think certain machines are beatable if you play them like 20 hrs a day. Well back in the day it was true.Comment -

#5It's true, Fish did very well in this area. I won't assign a dollar amount, I don't know what it would be exactly, depends how many hours he "worked" that particular year. Not just Fish, Vodoo (old poster from RX/MW) and some other sharpies made a nice living back in those days as well.Comment -

#8Voodoo wasn't into slot machines as much as me, although he did play plenty
........Voodoo's main emphasis was on blackjack(top ten player in the world in all probability), sportsbetting, and video poker more so than "slot" machines.
The good money in 'slot' machines were the years 1995-2000, when literally hundreds of different "bonus" machines were hitting the casino floor. A very small select group of us pros would be the first to find and figure out how to beat these machines. It was not uncommon for less than 4-5 of us that knew how to beat many of these type of machines.
Probably not to many made more money off of these slot machines than me, but I guarantee you a handful did so.
As just ONE example of beating the slots, when Sunset Station opened, it took them a month to figure out that 6-8 of us were beating them on a particular "timing" machine.......combined, the 6-8 of us probably beat them for $250,000 at the very least in that 28 days this was available..................I recall making about $18,000 or so on the play myself in the 28 days it was available.

Skepticism is justified. For my first several years betting full-time, Fishhead was known as one of the biggest shills in forum-land. He was more polite than Raiders - and he didn't have Raiders knack of finding books that were going to fold - but he was there at theRX spinning and twisting info every day.
My experience with being a successful bettor is it buys you a lot of self-respect. You do not need to shill.
It would be a long time before I could look at anything from Raiders or Fishhead without thinking, "What is he trying to sell now?"Comment -

#13Not selling anything....lol.
98% of the time this slot subject is broght up by others.
Progressives, bonus machines, and timed machines are the only ways to beat slots without cheating that I know.
In the case of the SUNSET STATION play, they had a group of $1 machines that sometime every 20-34 minutes if you were playing a machine, it would go into a 2x-5x mode for 45 seconds. Well a handful of us figured out the pattern and knew within 5 minutes or less when the mode would come on. The problem still existed of having to play the machine, well we figured out if one played just ONE coin every 12-14 seconds, the machine would qualify for the bonus mode.
So in theory, one would a lose a few bucks playing this one coin every 12-14 seconds in the 1-4 minutes before the bonus would come on. When the bonus activated, one would then play the MAXIMUM coins and play as fast as possible........every pay would be 2-5x the normal pay. As mentioned, this would last for about 45 seconds. As you can figure out, this is a tremendous overlay. After the bonus mode went away, one would stay on the machine for a tad and then cash out and prepare for the next round in 20-32 minutes.
As mentioned earlier, I personally made about 18,000 on this play over 28 days(not counting comps and cashback on card) and others made more than me as they put in more time than myself.
Now again, this is only ONE example of the hundreds of plays that presented itself over the years.
These particular "timing" plays were only found at few casinos and were not as profitable as the bonus and progressive machines.
These "timing" machines were found at Sunset Station, The Orleans, Circus Circus, and the Edgewater in Laughlin..........there may have been others that I do not know of or have forgotten.Comment -

#14I'm actually on a very small slot play here in Tampa at this time(on the boat).
Not worth a whole lot, but basically no risk.
On average, a 5 hour cruise will net one about 60-70 bucks on average............plus comps.
Usually hit it up a couple times a week.Comment -

On all "timing" plays, button only, as speed is of the essence.
On all others, it doesnt matter.........but still use the buttons and perhaps 1 out of 20 spins I will pull the lever just out of boredom.Comment -
