Remember a few years back when congress was looking into banning boxing and other countries like England were too. With players getting bigger and faster all the time,it's a given that there is going to be collision deaths right on the field. The human body isn't meant to get hit flush the way it can happen in football these days.I went to a high school game in podunkville the other night and was on the sidelines and it was frightening how collisions were taking place. Not to sound whimpy, but when I played in high school kids didn't get smacked that hard.Watch ESPN Classic at some of the major college games from the 70's even and guys didn't have the physiques like they do now. They had rounded shoulders and rounded everything else. This is a new hyper breed of athlete in today's world.
Anyone want to give me odds on an NCAA division 1 or NFL player dying on the field this season?Dying off the field within a week could be a side bet too.
It used to be where teams on rosters would fudge and inflate the size of players, now they deflate the size of players.
