Weed is not part of the random tests. Only tested on the basis of reasonable cause as a "drug of abuse". Not sure if it was prescribed whether it would fall in that category. But you don't hear about players being suspended for weed because it's not regularly tested.

Because they are under unionized contract, mlb would trump California law. If Tim Lincecum requires medical marijuana he would need to apply with MLB to have it exempt. If he does not or they rule a no, then any positive test would fall under drugs of abuse. It is like this for any medication prescribed to a player. You read about a few cases a year where players get in trouble for not filling out the proper paper work for medication for ADD/ADHD.

In California nothing has to be wrong with you to get a Medical Marijuana recommendation. Anybody that tells you something has to be wrong with you has no idea what they are talking about. Anybody can get one. Just pay your $49.99 to $150.00 depending on where you live and you can get it for one year. Up North they are cheaper, and inland they are more around $100.00.... It's the one thing that I miss about living in CA is access to all the Weed stores. Here in Israel, it's all designer drugs and lots of MDA and MDMA... The weed is good here just not like CA.
