How can I not love 5 Dimes? They have a quote from me on their website. Their taste is obviously impeccable.
5 Dimes is the champion of selection. If there is ever an obscure event you want to bet and you wonder if anyone has it, 5 Dimes is the place to start your search. Loads of props and match-ups. For the recreational player, it really is a kid in a candystore experience to have an account there.
And there's a point right there: I consider it a book for recreational players. I strongly disagree with the SBR designation as a book for professionals. Limits are just too low (the highest on-line per ticket limit is $500) and they are too quick to restrict players for a pro designation IMO.
But it's a terrific book for recreational players. One of the best. Very safe. Good on payouts.
5 Dimes is basically a full juice book but they offer many reduced juice games under props. For one thing, they have their much loved nickel overnight lines on MLB. But just about any big TV game (or tennis match, or boxing bout) is worth checking in the props section to see if they have a special reduced juice line for internet wagering.
They offer a few different bonuses based on different deposit methods. Usually it's a 20% matchplay bonus with a 5 times rollover (and you have to complete the rollover before using the bonus, which is an important detail to some.)
The website can be a problem. They have had long term problems with slow performance at crunch times. I haven't played there for a couple months and I have heard they have improved so I'm hoping some members will speak to the current state of that.
On the plus side, my login doesn't time out too fast.

It must be joke or you have some special rights. I estimate my time out for 10-15 mins max.

Oh my. Are we talking about the same 5 Dimes? For me, starting a couple months ago when they supposedly did some “upgrade,” they’re horrible on timeouts. They might well be the worst of all my books. At best they’re roughly tied with several other atrocious ones.
And despite the “upgrade,” the site is still down or excruciatingly slow more than any other book I use. Maybe it’s slightly less bad than it was at its worst, but that’s about it.
Other than that, pretty much everything else about this book is good or better. Decent bonuses. (Though be aware that they do them more like “loyalty points”—i.e., you get your bonus money as you give them action, rather than getting it all up front and then having to meet a rollover. A lot of players object to this. I don’t.) You only get reload bonuses if you’re down, not if you’re redepositing money you withdrew in the past.
Excellent bet selection. All the quarters, team totals, action points, alternate lines, unusual teasers, props, etc. is the main reason 5 Dimes has considerable value to me. I use this book quite a lot—it would probably rank between fifth and tenth in terms of total wagers I place—and probably 98% of my bets are on the offbeat things like that, plus the occasional low vig offerings like the nickel overnight baseball lines. The bulk of their standard, major sport, full game sides and totals are consensus lines at full vig, and thus only rarely bettable.
Transactions fees are OK. No fees on deposits, one free Neteller withdrawal every five weeks (though you have to do it in a brief window on Monday, which is a pain), $15 each after that. Many books are better, many books are worse.
Customer service has been good for me. While their clerks struggle with some issues, everyone there has always been courteous with me, including the supervisors, and I’ve more than once gotten little bonuses for things like pointing out bad lines to them.
I don’t know anything about their financial strength beyond the publicly available evidence that they’ve been around for a lot of years and I don’t recall ever seeing slow pay reports or any other “warning signs” about them, and they’re rated highly by pretty much all the watchdog sites (though with their diminishing credibility take that for what it’s worth).
For what I happen to look for in a book, 5 Dimes is a B to B+ for me, which puts them in my “core” group of more or less essential outs. They’d be A- or above if it wasn’t torturous trying to use their website.

Maybe my memory is playing tricks or things have changed on the time-out issue. Like I said earlier, it has been awhile since I played there. Everyone listen to Lucas and TLD over me on that one.
And since it sounds like the website is still struggling at crunch times, I hate to say it but I wouldn't recommend anyone having 5 Dimes as their only out. That's how bad it can get.
I remember waiting . . . and waiting . . . and waiting . . . and waiting . . . see how slow and annoying this is, right? . . . for lines to come up or a transaction to be confirmed and it would have me hollering at my monitor, WTF ARE YOU DOING?
It's not good when that is going on with your only out.

New state of the art wagering software by ASI will be live next month. 5Dimes has been stuck in the A- to A category never being able to break onto the top shelf mainly because their software is overwhelmed on Saturday and Sunday during football. This is an important year for 5Dimes.
