Sports Betting: The Agony of Defeat
Yesterday I decided to log into my 5Dimes account and just look at a few games. I haven't made a bet in almost a month but for shits and giggles I did. I noticed I had 1 American Dollar in my account! I decided to make a moneyline play on Oakland at +140 and risked my whole bankroll!!!!!!!! I know it wasn't a smart play according to you bankroll management geniuses's but I said what the hell...

I of course won the play and today noticed I had a whopping $2.40 in my account. I am typically a 500-3000 player but again, due to some bad luck (bad plays, etc.) and just the plain old fact of being really busy with work, I haven't played in a while. I then decided to do an open 25 team parlay. I remembered the guy who did one for 500 dollars a while back and won a huge amount so I thought, "why the hell not". I made 6 plays tonight to open my parlay worth $2.40. I won all my plays and the last play I made a prop bet with Marc Gasol over 9.5 rebounds. At halftime we looked pretty damn good with him having 5 rebounds (on pace for 10). With 6 minutes to go in the 4th period he picked up his 9th rebound and again I smiled thinking, "damn this idiotic play might actually have a chance". Of course he played the remaining 6 minutes without a rebound and I lost my $2.40 parlay (which I probably was going to lose anyways, I undertand that).

For me it was an interesting night. I was able to get a rush off of money I didn't even realize existed, but at the same time it sucked. I lost my attempted 25 team parlay by .5 rebounds. I have lost much bigger bets with much more on the line before, but just like the other's, this just sucked. Gambling is a fun thing to do but it does get aggravating when you feel like you have a bet won and it for whatever reason doesn't come to fruition. I have much worse "bad beat" stories than this but I just felt like sharing this one imparticular. Good luck for the rest of you guys, but for me this just reminded me a little bit of why I am taking a break for now...

So he won a +140 bet and after that had $2.40 in his account? Was all in 90 cents?

        Sick story.
