8 Good Reasons to Back the Orioles Tonight at +172

1) Orioles can rake with the best.

2) Don't fall in love with Morrow's opener, it was a) Cleveland b) 20 degrees below zero in Cleveland (not really, just felt it though)

3) Morrow did walk three, while striking out only three against Cleveland, and needed almost 110 pitches across seven innings doing that.

4) Gave up that big fly to Kippins.

5) Adam Jones, Nick Markakis, and to a lesser extent, Nolan Reinold has hit Morrow in the past pretty well.

6) *pay attention* JJ Hardy has three at bats versus Morrow, two homers, as Meatloaf once sang "two out of three ain't bad"

7) Tommy Hunter's opener versus the Twins was more impressive than Morrow's opener, Hunter pitched seven shut out innings, yielding six hits, walking one.

8) Blue Jays are only 31 for 154 lifetime versus Hunter (.250) and the big boys can't touch him. Bautista is 3 for 17 no homers (.176)

Agreed good value but I would be wary Jays big bats about to wake up, and Morrow is a real breakout this year I think he learns to harness it more. Line is perfect imo.

careful on this game guys.. its a coin flip. if i had to make a play on this game I would bet on the Blue Jays -180 for Morrow is way too much juice. Morrow has great stuff but he is very inconsistent. For me to put money on him he is going to have to show some consistency.

A few things to note tho:

While you say the Jays cant hit Hunter, he is 1-3 in 6 starts vs the Jays with a 6.75 era.

In '11 he went 0-2 with a 5.57 era in 21ip vs the Jays.

He is 0-2 with a 6.32 era at Rogers Center.

In '11 he tossed 8.2 innings at the Rogers Center with 1 start going 0-1 with a 4.15 era.

The game is a flip too, but whenever I can get +170 on a flip, I'm all over it.

I will be at the game tonight. My initial thoughts were O's but looking over the numbers and past match ups, i may take the over or no play. Morrow needs to show us fans that he's the real deal though. first friday night game here of the season, place will be buzzin' (for a jays game lol). Bautista sucks against Hunter but he's not the only bat we have. some of the dormant bats are likely to wake up soon. ahh, i like your value Mr. Nash but as someone here said, jays are finding ways to win.

i'm also kind of torn because of this (possibly) silly reason...i completely ignored the numbers today that Indians put up against Hochevar, so I backed the Royals, and then they went and put up 7 on him in the first. I am afraid that if I now take O's thinking "ok, i ignored the numbers before and got raped, I'm gonna play the numbers", I will get raped again. those types of situations always work out for me in that bad way. I don't play a situation i should have played and lose, so then next go around I play that situation the way i should have the first time around, and it goes the OTHER way. fuk me
