paid 5 million bucks/year in extention to krejci even though he cant even play juliens system (battle along boards). but he racked up points in last years playoffs. I think it was largely due to being on line alongside Lucic and Horton. Last year their top line was DOMINANT all playoffs long. Horton, Lucic, Krejci were just owning every team. Without Horton this line has been significantly different. not as much production. Taking Horton off that line really changes everything. Bergeron line is their top line. Horton being out is a big blow to the bruins. bruins fans dont want to admit it because we won games 3-7 of finals without him last year. but that was one series and canucks/Luongo played like shit. Bruins need Horton. Don't think bruins can repeat without him. Top line has taken a big hit since theyve lost him.Comment -
I think they can still beat anyone with their defense. I know their record is better with Horton in this year...but since seguin joined that line it has been their top line. I dont think marchand looks very good setting people up or scoring lately.....its like he is missing that step he had.....but at least he can win battles on the board.Comment -
yes their defense is good. But its tough to win in playoffs win you are averaging 0.5 goals per regulation game. 0 in game1, 1 in game2. Yes their defense can carry them. but you need more than 0.5 goals a game. Bruins are great when they battle along the boards. Top line hasnt been able to battle along the boards like they have with horton. not to mention his scoring is a bonus too. peverley has decent speed, but i think he lacks the physical presence horton had. i really feel that the physicality of Horton and Lucic helped that top line be dominant all playoffs last year. they'd keep cycling and battling along boards and keep generating chances. defenses just couldnt handle it. Horton is a tough loss for bruins.Comment -

This game is going to tire both teams out a lot for the next. The coaches need to play the third and fourth line a bit more from this point on. Maybe even use a timeout if they need to rest some guys. I know from experience that people get hurt when they try to turn on the jets near the end of a long shift.Comment -
