Further, if we're going to talk about the Best 8th seed, the Edmonton Oilers in 2006 lost in 7 games in the Stanley Cup Finals to the eventual Champions, Carolina Hurricanes.

That Oiler team would shitstomp LA all over the rink. Best 8th seed ever? no.

LA hasn't face any adversity yet. That Oiler team did (down 2-0 to SJ) and responded quite well (7 straight wins). That Oiler team is still the best 8th seed ever (losing there version of Quick in game 1 and still making it to game 7). LA is on track to beat them but it would be really interesting to see how they would respond if they lose game 1 and/or 2 of the finals. Go Devils!!
