#4Curlin would beat Big Brown by half a furlong........... Breeders Cup day is a good betting day -- a lot of good prices -- hard to handicap, but hitting one or two can set you up for the day.Comment -

#6Curlin is a great horse, but his last two races were less than impressive. All out to beat allowance horses.
I'd still take Cigar over him any day, and even Skip Away.
I took this photo of Cigar at the Kentucky Horse Park in 2006 and he still looked like he kick anyone's ass on the track.Comment -

why the big fuss over the Derby when the best horses are not three year olds? I never understood that.

#9To even remotely suggest Curlin is better than Cigar based upon purse money is one of the dumbest things I have ever read on any message board this year. Purse money has continued to increase as time moves forward, therefor it only seems fair and logical that today's t'breds would (and should) out purse the greats from the past.Comment -

#11fiveteamer,
If this is this case, why did the first post of this thread have a "" after the statement Curlin past Cigar's earnings?
I took that as an insult to Cigar for if the two went head to head in seven races over various surfaces and/or distances, Cigar would win at least five times.

#12I think it was a general celebration for a milestone being reached in equine sports. Whether he is better than Cigar is a subject for another day. However, no one can deny that breaking the 10mil is a celebratory event regardless.Comment -

Let's keep the discussions down here somewhat related to the subject of equine kiddies, and leave the hurling of personal insults and dredging up of old forum battles to the playground at recess. Thanks.Comment -
