Any early leans on the Stanley Cup? oliers/canes
I see Edmonton +135 to +140 looks like one of the better bets I've seen this year but not doing so well in the nhl playoffs so far so i dont trust my judgement. I think Canes have had some so so goaltending at times, and now the face a team with a real defense not 4 AHL'ers. Geez I almost think oilers should be favourite here if you look at how these teams have played in the playoffs and I expect this line to get bet down. Only thing that worries me is long layoff for the oilers and losing that momentum.

so how do u all see it?

Want the Oilers but thinking it will be the Canes pretty easy.

I'm the same way. After a hot start, I went ice cold. Getting off Edmonton after 2 losses to San Jose was a bad mistake. I like Edmonton here. Carolina's up and down pace could put them in big trouble against Edmonton. Plus, Rolason is red hot right now. I don't like Carolina's flip-flopping goaltending.

I think Edmonton beat two better teams than Carolina in Detroit and San Jose, so I gotta go with Edmonton in 6 games (maybe even 5).

[QUOTE=scottyy11]not doing so well in the nhl playoffs so far so i dont trust my judgement.

ill take carolina based on home ice and edmonton's long inactivity period. Niot that it should matter, but carolina was 7-3 vs non conference teams during regular season and edmonton was 3-7 vs non conference teams.

Amazing that an 8 seed (Edmonton) is so close to winning it all.

Also amazing that it's an 8 seed versus a 2 and the line is so close. Carolina has home ice advantage and they're only -127 favorites right now.

The Oilers really made this a game. I might take them for the series now. I know I will be on them for game 2.

You might want to check the Pucks forum and see what happen to the Oilers goaltender.

Also, the Canes made it a game, they were down 3-0 at one point when they came back and took the lead 4-3. Then won it with about 30 so seconds left on a error by the backup goalie for the Oilers.

                Great game.
