Apparently Rugby League is the most popular gambling sport in Australia. Shari posted something about almost a quarter of the money gambled on sports and horses in Australia now is on the NRL. (If i'm not misquoting what she said) :-)

Rugby may be more popular gambling, but AFL is the more popular sport.

I personally think AFL is more fun to bet on. If you've got +EV then it doesn't matter whether you like the sport or not, I know.
