and thank you toronto, now hold on

cleveland deserves to lose after going scoreless the last 13 innings against 7 different pitchers. that is pathetic

i saw on my lunch that CLE was up 4-0 in the 2nd, and i had my small parlay on Det + Toronto, i just laughed... was thinking to myself "how will CLE end up blowing this opener" as they never win the first game lol

What is "opening day"? A teams first home game? I thought baseball started last thursday.

it actually beat the old mark of 15 innings which also happened in a cleveland game

CLEVELAND -- In the longest opening-day game in major league history, J.P. Arencibia's three-run homer in the 16th inning sent the Toronto Blue Jays to a 7-4 win over the Cleveland Indians on Thursday.
Arencibia was 0 for 6 with three strikeouts before connecting off Jairo Asencio.
The marathon eclipsed the previous longest openers -- 15 innings between Cleveland and Detroit in 1960 and 15 innings between Philadelphia and Washington in 1926.

I laughed at this also, being on Toronto and all.

The irony of Arencibia's homer was he failed to lay down a bunt on the first two tries to move the runners on 1st and 2nd
